27 writers. One resort. One roof.
Coincidence? I don’t believe so.
People from different walks of life came together—coaches, authors, bestselling writers, screenwriters, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, army officers, engineers, chartered accountants, and many more.
Yet, beneath every profession, designation, and achievement, there was one common thread—we were all seekers, all evolving in our own way.
Each person was transforming emotions into words, giving their experiences a voice. It reminded me that we are never defined by our titles. Beyond every role we play lies the soul we truly are.
Away from home. Away from my daily routines. Away from the people I love. And surprisingly, away from constant connectivity, the network gap turned out to be one of the greatest gifts. Sometimes, disconnection from the world is what allows us to reconnect with ourselves.
Throughout the retreat, I experienced a spectrum of emotions. Some were awakened by conversations, while others quietly surfaced from within. There were moments that challenged me, moments that humbled me, and moments that will stay with me forever.
Like every journey, this one wasn’t perfect. There were complaints and things that could certainly have been organized better. But what stood out was that most of us chose not to dwell on what was missing. Instead, we chose to focus on what we could create together with the time we had.
And perhaps that is what maturity really is, not expecting perfection, but choosing perspective.
This trip also reminded me of another beautiful truth.
There were groups, and even groups within groups. People naturally gravitated towards those they already felt connected with. There was no right or wrong in it. It was simply human nature.
Life is much the same. We all choose where we invest our time, attention, and energy. Not everyone is meant to walk alongside us, and not every connection is meant to become deep.
The people who are meant for you will find you, value your presence, and choose your company just as naturally as you choose theirs. Until then, keep your heart open, protect your energy, and continue being authentically yourself.
To the mentors and the organising team—thank you. Somewhere during this retreat, I found a missing piece within myself.
What did you discover about yourself recently?
And of course, a special mention to the delicious food that kept us nourished and energized throughout the retreat. Some experiences are remembered not just for the lessons they teach, but also for the little comforts they offer.
Grateful to every soul who crossed my path. Every interaction—whether fleeting or profound, comfortable or challenging—left behind a lesson. Every person became a part of my journey, and for that, I am deeply thankful.
Sometimes, the destination isn’t what changes us. It’s the people we meet, the reflections we have, and the version of ourselves we return home with.
