In both my personal and professional life, I’ve learned that not every disagreement is worth my energy. Engaging in pointless arguments often leads us away from our goals šÆ and detracts from our peace of mind. š§āāļø
Choosing silence doesn’t mean conceding; itās a powerful form of self-control and wisdom. šŖāØ When faced with foolishness, I’ve found that stepping back and allowing it to reveal itself speaks volumes more than any argument could. š£
This practice has not only helped me maintain my focus š but also fostered a deeper sense of inner strength. šæ Letās remember to preserve our energy for what truly matters. šš
How do you handle disagreements in your life? I’d love to hear your experiences and insights! š¬š
āFate is a misconception. Itās merely a cover-up for the fact that you donāt have control over your own life.ā ā Priyanka Murarka
For a long time, this belief shaped my outlook on life. It made me feel that life was happening to me, leaving me at the mercy of circumstances beyond my control. At that stage, I felt that āfateā was a way to explain the unpredictable events that came my way.
But as Iāve grown and reflected, my understanding has evolved. Today, my belief has shifted, and I now stand by a new mantra: āYou create your destiny.ā ā Priyanka Murarka.
Itās a simple but powerful realization that life doesnāt just happen to usāwe actively shape it. This shift from āfateā to ādestinyā isnāt just a change in words; itās a transformation in perspective. And Iāve realized Iām not alone in this journey. Many of us move through life, grappling with questions about our purpose, control, and growth. Hereās what Iāve learned through this evolution, and some ideas to support you wherever you are on your path.
1. Embracing Self-Belief Over Destiny
Our lives are filled with choices, big and small, that shape our path. Each decision, effort, and even setback is a line in the story we are writing. Rather than waiting for life to reveal itself, embracing the belief that you create your destiny allows you to step into a place of empowerment.
Self-belief is foundational here. Whether itās a career change, a personal challenge, or an ambitious goal, knowing that you have the power to steer your path can be transformative. Youāre not just a bystanderāyouāre the author.
2. Adaptability as a Strength
Life will present new challenges, shifts, and even unexpected events, but our ability to adapt can be our greatest strength. Staying open-minded and embracing the journey can turn what feels like obstacles into valuable lessons.
This adaptability is key to personal growth and professional success. Change is a constant for leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals at every stage. But our openness to learn and evolve sets us apart and drives us forward.
3. The Power of Reflection and Realignment
Every so often, we need to pause and reflect on where we are, where weāre headed, and whether our actions align with our core values. This reflection not only helps clarify our path but also reaffirms our purpose.
Realignment is a powerful tool for personal and professional development. As we grow, our goals, values, and desires may shift. Embracing these shifts helps us live with intention, constantly aligning our lives with who we are becoming.
From Fate to Destiny: Growth is a journey
My journey from believing in fate to creating my own destiny has been marked by moments of self-discovery, challenges, and a willingness to evolve. I believe this is a journey many of us share. We start with one perspective, but life has a way of teaching us that growth is a journey, not a destination. Wherever you are in your journeyājust starting, navigating change, or seeking purposeāembrace the evolution. Stay open, trust in your ability to adapt, and remember: you are the author of your story.
What does creating your destiny look like to you? Feel free to share your journey in the comments. Letās inspire and evolve together.
This journey of evolving beliefs isnāt always easy, but itās worth it. We may begin with one perspective, but life teaches us that the greatest growth happens when we allow ourselves to change. Letās embrace our power, our adaptability, and our evolving selves.
The Value of Self-Respect: A Childhood Lesson to Remember
Thereās nothing more important than self-respect. It shapes our identity, values, and how we carry ourselves. While itās rare to notice this trait in children, some kids seem to have it naturallyāperhaps it runs in their genes. This is a heartwarming story from my own childhood, where I learned the importance of self-respect through my motherās sacrifices.
A Motherās Love and Sacrifices
As the youngest daughter in my family, I was pampered, mischievous, and innocent. My mother always aimed to provide me with the best life she could, even as we faced financial struggles. She never allowed me to feel the weight of our circumstances.Ā Ā
Whenever there was a birthday party or family function, my mother would borrow beautiful dresses from my cousin, who was the same age. Buying new outfits wasnāt an option, but she prioritized my happiness above her own feelings about self-respect and pride. My elder sister often missed these events, as only I was taken to maintain this arrangement.Ā Ā
A Moment of Realization
One day, I saw my cousin wearing the same dress I had worn to a party. Curious, I asked my mother, “How is she wearing my dress?” To ease my confusion, my mother simply said, “It must be a copy.”
Later, during my uncleās wedding, my mother bought me a new outfit, thinking it would make me happy. However, I noticed the difference and became suspicious.
With teary eyes, I confronted my mother:
“Did you borrow this dress from Aunt again?”
Overwhelmed, I cried, realizing how much the borrowed dresses bothered me. That day, my mother made a heartfelt promise: we would never borrow clothes again, even if it meant skipping future events. She put aside her self-respect and ego for my happiness.
A Lesson in Self-Respect and Gratitude
Through this experience, I learned that self-respect is crucialāsomething my mother embodied. Today, I have a wardrobe full of beautiful clothes, and I rarely repeat an outfit in a month.
This story serves as a reminder that parents often go to extraordinary lengths to provide the best for us, even when faced with challenges. Their love and sacrifices shape who we become, and they deserve our deepest respect.
Hold On to Self-Respect and Stay Positive
Self-respect is a quality that should never be compromised, no matter the situation. Challenges and tough times are temporaryākeep moving forward with hope and a positive attitude. Life will change for the better, and one day, youāll look back and appreciate how far youāve come.
